The brief
Afrilyt Development Foundation runs community development programmes spanning clean water access and economic empowerment. Like most foundations, its problem is not belief in the cause but the distance between someone being moved by it and someone actually doing something.
A donor who reads a mission statement and finds no obvious next step leaves. A volunteer who wants to help has nowhere to register. A funder assessing the organisation wants to see specific, active programmes rather than a general statement of values.
The site was built around that gap. Every page ends in an action pledge, get involved, explore a campaign and the foundation manages its own campaigns and events without going through a developer each time a programme launches.
What we built
Campaign pages for each programme
Clean water, economic empowerment and other initiatives each get their own page, so a supporter can back the specific cause that moved them rather than giving to a general fund. It also gives the foundation a shareable link per campaign for social posts and funder conversations.
Pledge and get-involved flows
Two routes from the homepage: pledge support, or register to take part. Both capture the supporter’s details so the foundation can follow up, rather than relying on someone finding an email address.
Supporter accounts
Registered supporters log in to see their pledges and involvement, which turns a one-off donor into someone with a reason to return.
Upcoming events section
Scheduled activities are published ahead of time so supporters and partner organisations can plan around them — visible upcoming work is also what tells a funder the organisation is active.
Multi-language interface
A language selector in the main navigation, so the foundation can reach communities and international partners who do not read English as a first language.
Live chat with guided prompts
Preset options such as “I have a question” and “Tell me more” open a conversation without the visitor having to compose a message, catching people who would not fill in a contact form.
FAQ addressing donor questions
Where funds go, how to get involved, how the foundation operates. For a non-profit, answering these openly is a large part of establishing trust with a first-time donor.
How we worked
Delivered with the foundation managing campaigns, events and content directly through an admin area.
